Your Comments So far...
- Hello Rod,
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your efforts in facilitating my attendance at the Rally. May I also commend you and your colleagues on the superb organization of the whole weekend. As a first time participant and new JCCV member, the warmth, assistance and hospitality shown to myself and Kathleen throughout the weekend was, frankly, beyond our expectations but nonetheless an immense pleasure.
The Baskerville event was, again as a first time participant, just awesome and the thrill I got from competing will stay with me for a long, long time. The Dinner was equally brilliant.
Should you wish to include this note in your newsletter, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the other Parliament House display and Baskerville entrants whose enthusiasm and tips helped again to make each day so memorable for me. To Mike and the other Baskerville entrants who generously loaned me their helmets, a sincere thank you, also.
I look forward to an event being held in Melbourne where we may have the opportunity to reciprocate the hospitality and friendship we experienced.
Yours sincerely,
Greg Jamieson and Kathleen Knight - JCVV

- Jenni & Des,
A wonderful Post Rally Tour, well organised and beautifully executed. Food superb (as only Tassie can do) & accommodation and towns fantastic. I am amazed by your calmness and jolliness (is that a word?) Can't wait to repay some hospitality in the West later on this year. Your hospitality has been absolutely great, as has the Post Rally Tour. Let no one tell you otherwise. This will be a memorable trip for us.

- Dear Jenni, Des and Rod,
I would like to extend a big thank you for making my first trip to Tassie such a memorable one.
Not only in terms of the beautiful state you are lucky to live in, but in the way us 'mainlanders' were made to feel welcome. You must all be justifiably proud of the way the rally weekend was expertly organised. Having previously been a part of a rally committee, I can appreciate the amount of effort, time and personal commitment you all put in. Future rallies have some pretty big boots to fill. I immensely enjoyed the post rally tour and your organisational abilities, Jenni, are to be admired.
I look forward to catching up with you when WA hosts the rally in 2011 and, if not then, certainly when it's Tassie's turn again!
- Murray Motroni, JCCWA
- Hi Jenni and Rod,
Having arrived home safe and sound and had sufficient time to collect my thoughts and get back onto an even keel I am delighted to tell you that it was my pleasure to extol the virtues of your rally to our JCCV members at our May Club Monthly meeting last night.
Firstly let me say that I have not stopped talking about the terrific time we had to anyone who would listen since arriving back home on Sunday April 19th. However it was not until last night that I met up with our club members who had also attended the rally, many of whom were on the PRT as well. So it was a good time to hear reactions long enough after the NR/PRT for the initial euphoria to have worn off. To a person they agreed that the event was a great success, the PRT was a wonderful experience and the combined effort of Taswegians as far afield as three hours driving time from the venue was exceptional.
Having attended four NRs but only one PRT (yours) I can truly say that your event will live long as a memory to which great affection is attached. The whole concept of a short ship voyage, a good drive to the venue (circa three hours) a fantastic Saturday location (it was a stroke of genius to arrange the Salamanca Market for the same day) the nominated events of the usual NR then the unforgettable PRT simply meant that even the most difficult to please had to be impressed - and they were.
Excellent representation from WA and QLD particularly, as well as the nearer states, made for a successful beginning but it was the way your members worked so well together which ensured the wonderful result they achieved. Just proves that "we can achieve together what we cannot achieve alone".
Well done and thank you to all concerned.
Yours in all matters Jaguar,
- Geoff Hergt, JCCV - ACJC Delegate
- Dear Jenni and Rod,
We very much enjoyed our first National Meeting, and the efforts of the organisers made it a truly memorable trip. Everyone we met on the National Meeting weekend and the Tour was friendly; the company was marvellous, and the effort put into the nine days undoubtedly helped create this warm atmosphere. We didn't feel at all out of place despite driving the MX5! We're looking forward to more extended Jaguar trips, and catching up with the lovely people we met in your spectacular State.
- Andy and Julie Long, JCCV
- Hi Rod,
Congratulations on the event. My understanding is that it was sensational. And congratulations on your web site. I had a bit of a play and it is extremely professional and frankly even makes ours look a bit old hat. (But we have a new site later this year and it will blow your socks off.) All I can do is say you guys are very professional with everything you do and we are pleased to be able to work with you.
See you soon,
- Chris Lidis, General Manager, Jaguar Australia
- Hi Jenni,
Sorry that we have taken a while to add to your feedback site, although Marina and I have been busy enjoying the West Coast of Tasmania following a wonderful post rally tour, and have just arrived back in Melb. ready for our trip back across to WA.
To yourself, Rod and the rest of your very committed team congratulations and thank you for providing us with such a great time in Tasmania. We are sure that future Rally organisers will benefit from knowledge gained during this wonderful event, the variety of activities was well thought out, and the accommodation, food and wine of a very high standard. Also we do have some interesting photo's that I will send on, in particular unloading of balloons from an XJ at the Monday brunch.
Best Regards
- John & Marina Skinner, JCCWA
- We would like to say thank you to the Rally committee for all their hard work which culminated in 4 great days enjoyed by one and all, even the weather co-operated with fine days throughout. The display of the marque was outstanding with a magnificent line up in the beautiful Parliament House grounds. We had many (non Jaguar) people comment to us how splendid all the cars looked and that the display was the best they had seen in Hobart, which is a tribute to all concerned.
A special vote of thanks to Tony Sadleir who was responsible for the setting up of the Rally web site and the Southern Cross Television promotion of the event, again the subject of many complimentary comments. Also thanks to Andrew Irving for his excellent production of the Rally Magazine and Presentation Dinner place mats and menus.
We were fortunate enough to win a Silver award in d'etat and as first time entrants in a National Rally we know how much effort goes into preparing the cars and would like to congratulate all the participants and other award winners.
Finally on a personal note, a heartfelt thankyou to my husband, Brian, who spent many long hours preparing our car.
- Diane Spencer, JCCT
- Hi Jenni,
Let me thank you again for the great trip around Tasmania......really something special. We didn't get to say good bye at Devonport...so bye.
Regards,
- Terry Daly
- Hi Jenni,
Virginia and I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank both you and Des for a fantastic Post-Rally Tour. We can only imagine the time and effort it must have taken you both to organize this event. From our point of view we had a wonderful touring holiday, and as it was my first trip to Tasmania, I'm sure I'll never forget it; in fact we were just looking up air fares for early December as we are both keen to return to sample more of Tassie's delights.
Cheers,
- Nick
- Greetings from Perth,
Thank you so much for organising such a great post rally tour. We really loved motoring in your beautiful Tasmania and to have all the arrangements made for us was just wonderful. The crossing on Saturday night was very easy and we are just waiting for our car to come back from Melbourne via the transporters. We hope that you have now recovered from all the hard work that goes into organising such an event.
Kind Regards
- Beryl and Roy Lyons
- Congratulations on a fine rally. I know the work that goes into such a huge event.
Friday cocktails was excellent with food and drink all at the ready. Saturday cavalcade was too slow and traffic banked up alarmingly. It really was not worth it. Display venue excellent with huge crowds looking at our cars. Boat cruise OK, too overcrowded, service was excellent though and food very nice. Presentation dinner was great but announcements of awards a bit unprofessional. Just stating surname was not good for winners. Food and wine excellent.
All in all very well done, all members from SA that I spoke to were very warm in their praise.
Kind Regards
- Doug Tilley
- Hello Everyone.
We just wanted to say a "Huge Thankyou" to you all for the wonderful National Rally you ran. A huge project, tons and tons and hours and hours of work, but let us say how much it was appreciated. We all know the commitment and time you all gave and you are all to be applauded for it. We won't thank individuals as you are all very bright shining lights.
Thanks for a great time and Rally.
Sincerely yours,
- Warwick and Betty Holmes (received by mail)
- Hi Guys.
Although only involved in one day may I congratulate you on a very well organised Concours. I know the effort involved to produce such an event, many thanks to Dale, Chris and crew; as well as all the judges. For the record all the WA guests staying with us had only good things to say about the Rally and Tour.
Cheers,
- Mark Wheatley, JCCT
- To all who had anything to do with the organisation of the Rally a very big THANK YOU!!
This was the first ever National Rally for my wife and I, and we couldn't have picked a better way to lose our virginity! Our E Type (Series 3 Roadster) also behaved herself wonderfully, and with the beautiful weather it meant that we could keep her topless all the time!
The Display was really well attended, a great position which also meant we could spend money at the Market. The Tahune Airwalk on Sunday was sensational, a great drive and an outstanding experience up amongst the trees. We had not been to Tasmania in more than 20 years and had forgotten just how beautiful the place is. A quick (and chilly!) drive up to Mt Wellington enabled us to take some sensational pictures of the car overlooking Hobart.
The Dinner Cruise on Saturday night was enjoyable but, and I am sure you have already been told, it was a pity that the boat was so overcrowded.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Presentation Dinner on Sunday, great location and good food and wine. And the farewell brunch on Monday was again at a marvellous location with good food.
Many congratulations to all at JCCT.
